Meet the team

Matt Harris

Matt Harris

Team Manager and Youth Worker

Matt started working for Perspective in August 2008. Previous to that he had worked at Ise Community College (now Kettering Science Academy) for over four years as an 'in-house' youth worker. He also used to deliver toilet rolls for a living, but that was a long time ago... Last year he completed his PGDip in Youth Work and Community Development from De Montfort University which means that he is a qualified youth worker (JNC) and community worker (ESB).

Now Matt's responsibilities include looking after the team, delivering work across the schools in Kettering and trying to get his head around budgets and strategic plans.

On a more personal front, Matt is husband to Nicola and father to a young daughter and lives in Kettering. He is also a long-suffering Southampton FC supporter.

Andy Stilwell

Andy Stilwell

Youth Worker at Kettering Science Academy
and Christ the King Church

Andy was Perspective's second ever employee. He has worked in many places over the years including at a call centre, an outdoor centre, on a search and rescue team and with young offenders. He now runs the 11-18 years youth groups at Christ the King Church and works at Kettering Science Academy as a mentor, sessional worker and all-round super hero. He is studying for his MA in Mission and Leadership.

Andy is Perspective's Del Boy and Face all rolled into one as he always seems to have the right contacts to acquire just what we need. Legally.

Andy is married to Lucy and they have three children.

Andy is also very tall.

Leah Bruce

Leah Bruce

Trainee Youth Worker at Kettering Science Academy
and Christ the King Church

Steve Tennant persuaded Leah to leave the sunny climes of Rugby in the summer of 2006 and she has been with us ever since! Leah is a valuable member of the team and helps Andy run the youth groups at CtK and also works in KSA; Leah looks after Andy and makes sure he is doing the right thing at the right time. She loves singing, drinking coffee and her little car, often in a combination of the three.

Leah is studying for her Bachelor of Theology at South West Youth Ministries, which includes long drives down the M5 several times a year.

Charlotte Harris

Charlotte Harris

Counsellor at Bishop Stopford School

Charlotte has worked with Perspective in various guises, running and writing different sessions for young people. At present, Charlotte is the resident counsellor at Bishop Stopford School and works there for a day and a half a week during term time. She has completed the Association of Christian Counsellors Advanced (AAC) Level 3 in Counselling and is currently studying for a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling.

Charlotte is a student member of the ACC and has been practicing at the Manna House Counselling Service in Northampton for the past 4 years. She does all this and still has the time (and energy) to be married to Sid and look after their six children: Charlotte is a modern-day Wonder Woman!

Sid Harris

Sid Harris

Freelance Youth Worker

During his time on this planet, Sid has done many different jobs: making burgers, building walls, cleaning factory floors, filling vending machines and trying to sell over-priced vacuum cleaners. He's not sure how he ended up in youth work.

Sid does, however, have a great deal of experience in youth work. After living in community developing youth church in his late teens/early twenties, Sid became involved with Keystone (now Keystone Escape Youth Centre on Rockingham Road) and then at 30 years old decided to get a degree. He achieved that goal by being awarded a Degree in Youth and Community Work with Applied Theology (JNC L2). Since then he has worked as a Youth Pastor, planned and developed 5-6 youth conferences, worked for the Local Authority as a Cafe Development Worker and been part of the Youth Involvement Team. Sid now works freelance holding various contracts from generic club-based work through to being a Music Arts Co-ordinator.

Sid's loves include his wife (Charlotte) and their six children, creativity, music and the Arts, people, food, food and more food.

Steve Tennant

Steve Tennant

Trustee and Youth Worker

Perspective Trust was Steve's brainchild and he is now a member of the Committee of Trustees. He has been the Assistant Minister (Youth) at CtK since October 2001 and is now taking a leadership role over Discipleship and Small Groups at the church. Steve also delivers some sessions in schools when the need arises.

Previous to this, Steve achieved his degree in Youth Work and Theology at NYACK College in New York, USA in the late 1990s. He then returned to the UK where he worked for eight churches pioneering new, cross town, youth work linking churches and schools in Deal, Kent. During this time Steve managed to marry the boss's daughter (Kate) and they now have two daughters and a son.

Steve likes watching and playing sports - when he's not watching the 'mighty' Spurs you'll probably find him back-heeling when playing 5-a-side football at KLV or fishing balls out of the pond at Pytchley Golf Lodge Course.
